Back in Texas & Gearing Up for the Holidays

Back in Texas & Gearing Up for the Holidays

October already? We can't believe it either! Time flies when you're navigating leaf spring issues across state lines and dodging tree branches in RV parks.

The Journey Home (With a Few Bumps Along the Way)

When we last checked in, we were in Palm Springs, California, enjoying the desert sunshine and dealing with a lovely little leaf spring situation. Because nothing says "adventure" quite like unexpected mechanical issues when you're 1,500 miles from your destination, right?

But we made it! We're now settled in Rockport, Texas at an absolutely gorgeous RV campground with the friendliest people you could ask for and a stunning view of the pond right off our back deck. Getting here took a bit of "to-do'ing"—this place has beautiful mature trees everywhere, which is lovely until you realize your 13-foot-tall RV and low-hanging branches don't exactly play nice together. After some careful maneuvering (and maybe a few held breaths), we found a site that fits us perfectly.

Family Time & Local Adventures

One of the best parts about being back in the Rockport area? The girls can come over for dinner! Nate has been absolutely loving cooking for more than just me, and honestly, it's been wonderful having family time around our little RV dinner table.

We've also been exploring downtown Rockport, and let me tell you—the little shops down there are absolutely adorable. We spent an entire day browsing and shopping, popping in and out of boutiques and local spots. It's the kind of small-town charm that reminds you why we love this lifestyle so much.

Laser the Escape Artist & Major the Amused Observer

Speaking of entertainment, Laser has decided he's the Houdini of the dog world. He's mastered the art of escaping his harness and making a break for the ponds scattered throughout the campground. And let me tell you, watching a small dog gleefully sprint toward water while Major sits there looking utterly amused is quite the spectacle. Major just watches, probably wondering if we're going to break out the treats to lure his little brother back. Spoiler: we usually do.

Coaching, Renovating & Nesting

While we're here for the next eight weeks, I've had the incredible opportunity to coach at a local gym two nights a week. It feels SO good to be back in the coaching groove! The athletes work incredibly hard, and the gym community and families have been so welcoming to have a guest coach. It's moments like these that remind me how connected you can feel, even when you're constantly on the move.

Meanwhile, Nate has been in full renovation mode. Because apparently, we can never just sit still. We got rid of the side couch/recliner set and Nate is installing cupboards and adding more countertop space. I am beyond excited about this upgrade—more counter space means more room to work, and more storage means I can actually stock up properly for Laser Duck's busy holiday season.

Waiting on Baby Boy

And the most exciting news? My mom is coming to visit next week to meet our (hopefully arriving soon) grandbaby boy! He's being quite stubborn, apparently content to wait out his full 40 weeks of cooking. We're all on baby watch, refreshing our phones and waiting for that call. Come on, little guy—we're ready to meet you!

Laser Duck is Ready for the Holidays—Are You?

While we've been settling in, unpacking, and renovating, Laser Duck Designs has been gearing up for what's always our busiest and most exciting time of year: the holiday season.

Our gift guides are absolutely epic this year, and we're still adding more products to the website daily. Whether you're shopping for the person who has everything, need custom corporate gifts that actually feel personal, or want to create something truly one-of-a-kind for your loved ones, we've got you covered.

Here's the thing about holiday orders: Custom laser engraving takes time, especially during our peak season. We're already seeing orders pick up, and we want to make sure everyone gets their gifts in time for the holidays.

Why Order Early?

  • Custom turnaround time: Individual orders typically take 4-6 days, but during the holiday rush, that timeline extends

  • Shipping considerations: Give yourself buffer time for delivery, especially if you're shipping gifts directly to recipients

  • Best selection: Our most popular items sell out fast—early birds get the best picks

  • Less stress: Order now, check gifts off your list, and actually enjoy the holidays instead of panic-shopping in December

Ready to start your holiday shopping? Head over to LaserDuckDesigns.com and browse our gift guides. From personalized tumblers and leatherette goods to custom home decor and snarky gifts that'll actually make people laugh, we've got something for everyone on your list.

Need Something Custom for Your Business or Team?

We're also taking bulk orders for businesses, sports teams, and events. Our B2B clients love that they can get high-quality, American-made promotional items that don't feel generic. If you need branded merchandise, team fundraising products, or corporate gifts that people will actually use, reach out to us. Bulk orders typically take about two weeks from inquiry to completion, so now's the perfect time to get your order in.

What's Next for the Ducks

We'll be in Rockport through the end of November, which gives us time to enjoy family, coach, finish these RV renovations, and crank out holiday orders for Laser Duck. We're also planning our next route—because even when we're parked, we're always thinking about where the road will take us next.

Thanks for following along on this wild, wonderful, occasionally chaotic journey. Whether you're here for the RV life, the small business hustle, or just to see what Laser gets into next, we're grateful you're part of our community.

Now go check out those gift guides before your favorite items are gone!

Until next time,
Krystal, Nate, Major & Laser the Escape Artist
