2 Weeks In: Beachside Moves, Back-In Battles & RV Life with a Side of Business Hustle
Well, y’all… we did it. Two weeks on the road, and we’re still standing (and married). 🚐💨
The journey started with a 5-day trek from Minnesota to Texas, hauling our home-on-wheels and helping our youngest daughter settle into her new apartment on the coast—with her big sister right down the road. Yes, there were emotions. Yes, there were snacks. And yes, we officially earned our “Parents of the Year” badges. Again.
We made a pit stop in Tulsa to visit some longtime friends, and even squeezed in a visit with our son before heading toward the water. And where did we land for the 4th of July? Oh, just the beach. That’s right—turns out you can roll your RV right onto the sand and toast freedom with the waves crashing in the background. Bucket list moment? ✔️

Major (our fluffy, senior Husky/Border Collie mix) is leaning hard into the RV lifestyle. He’s a little unsure each time we move to a new campsite—understandable when your house has wheels—but he’s quickly figured out that nighttime means snuggling back inside the RV. During the drive, he’s claimed the back seat of the Ram 3500 like a throne, complete with window views and AC. King Major approves.
As for us? Let’s just say backing into campsites and hooking up the 5th wheel with our Gen-Y Gooseneck has been… an adventure. Nothing tests communication like hand signals, hitching angles, and heat-induced crankiness. But we’re figuring it out, one “LEFT, NO MY LEFT!” at a time.
Now that the 4th is behind us, we’re flipping the switch from road trip mode to business grind. Laser Duck Designs is officially hitting the road—events, markets, pop-ups, and all. It’s time to turn this dream into a full-time reality, feathers and all.
We’ve got a lot more adventures ahead, but for now—we’re parked, caffeinated, and ready to make magic with a laser beam.
Catch you down the road (or at a beachside booth somewhere soon),
